Request a clinicFrom Swiss stables to Chile and FEI development work: Katrin Meyer combines classical training, international experience and a calm eye for what truly helps horse and rider progress.
Her work with horses began early near Lake Lucerne, shaped by her grandfather Thomas Hürlimann and a childhood in which stable life and sport naturally belonged together.
Tetrathlon, dressage, jumping and athletic training. As a teenager, Katrin Meyer gained competitive routine and won the Franconian championship. Talent became a clear professional path.
She trained as a professional rider in Bäretswil with Hans Staub, multiple Swiss champion and international Grand Prix rider.
In 2001 she earned her master title at the Westphalian Riding and Driving School with Michael Putz, receiving the Stensbek distinction.
Germany, the United States, Chile and South America: individual stations became an international profile. Today she works with riders and horses in Germany and Switzerland.
Katrin Meyer’s work combines Grand Prix experience, precise training and the ability to make complex riding principles understandable.
Her professional signature was shaped by trainers who influenced international sport: Klaus Balkenhol, Karin Rehbein and Michael Deters refined technique, system and attention to detail. This dressage foundation was complemented by jumping training with Hanno Vreden and at Gilbert Böckmann’s competition stable.
As an independent master horse professional, Katrin Meyer worked at Zuchthof Schulze Tophoff, taught clinics in Germany and the United States and coached riders up to Grand Prix level.
Three years at the Chilean dressage stable Tejas-Verdes with Mario Vargas added a broader international perspective. She later worked for FEI development programs in South America.
Today her training stands for classical foundations, clear analysis and work that makes communication between horse and rider more refined, understandable and reliable.

Support with selection, assessment and placement of sport and leisure horses, backed by pre-selection, network and realistic evaluation.
The Eckart Meyners method works on mobility, balance, coordination and the rider’s seat. The goal is a body that acts more consciously and gives the horse clearer aids.
Restrictions, compensations and asymmetrical patterns become visible.
Short, concrete movement tasks improve suppleness and coordination.
The change is tested directly in the saddle, not explained in the abstract.
The rider becomes clearer, the horse can respond more subtly. That is where sustainable training begins.
Katrin Meyer supports the search for sport and leisure horses with an international network, professional assessment and a clear view of the right horse-rider match.
Through long-standing contacts with breeders and trainers, especially in Germany and the Netherlands, Katrin Meyer can often assess not only the horse in the moment but also its development over time.
The pre-selection is deliberately strict: level of training, character, potential and everyday suitability are matched with the buyer’s goals. The result is not a random recommendation but a professionally reasoned shortlist.
On request, Katrin Meyer coordinates the vet check with selected veterinarians, organizes transport solutions and supports the next steps through to handover. Contractual matters and escrow handling can also be secured through specialized partners.
Not every suitable horse is listed publicly. A direct conversation usually opens the better selection for a specific search.
The best selection starts with a conversation.
The public list is fed from the local admin area. If no horses are entered, the page stays intentionally empty and invents nothing.
